The Public Utilities Department is seeking to fill a full-time Customer Service vacancy. This position performs basic to intermediate clerical and collections work involving extensive customer interaction, both by phone and in person. Requires strong customer- service orientation and problem-solving skills, as well as knowledge of bookkeeping terminology and methods and the ability to perform standard office procedures. General knowledge of utility services to include connection and termination procedures, billing, collections and adjustments is also required. Must be able to understand and follow oral and written directions, follow established and detailed work procedures, post accounts, and perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy. Some typing skill is required, ability to use of a variety of office equipment, specifically a 10-key calculator, as well as related computer programs. Exceptional telephone skills and the ability to get along well with citizens and customers are also required. Typical work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday hours. |

The Morehead City Police Department has a full-time position available for a Public Safety Telecommunicator. This position receives police, fire, animal control, local government, and other emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatches personnel and equipment in response to emergency situations, and assists the public with service-related calls.
