Hazard Mitigation Plan Update The Town of Morehead City is currently in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan provides the blueprint for actions undertaken throughout Morehead City’s jurisdiction to reduce losses associated with all types of hazardous events. The plan is required under the federal Disaster Mitigation Act for local governments to be eligible for certain pre- and post-disaster funding. Public meetings will be held before the Planning Board on April 21, 2009, and the Town Council on May 12, 2009. Draft Hazard Mitigation Plan Update
