BARBARA LEMONS joined the Town of Morehead City in May  2005 as the City’s first Human Resources Officer. Prior to her role here,  
                 Barbara was with the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC for 15  years where she held positions as Director of Human 
                 Resources, Leadership Development facilitator, and Director of the Coaching and Feedback, Assessment Services,and Network Licensing
                 Groups.
 
                 Barbara’s past experience  also includes six years as Assistant for Personnel Management with Roanoke City Schools and two years as 
                 Director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Roanoke, Virginia. Barbara is a member of the  Society of Human Resources 
                 Management (SHRM) and holds Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and HR Generalist designations from that  organization.   
                 She is also a member of the North Carolina Chapters of the International Personnel Management Association and the Organization of 
                 Municipal Personnel Officers.

                 Education includes a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration  (magna cum laude)
                 from Western Carolina University.   She has also completed post-graduate course  work at the University of Virginia,
                 Virginia Tech, and the University of North  Carolina at Greensboro.
